CyanogenMod 5.0.4.3

In his instructions, it says:

1. Unlock your device and install ROM Manager from the Market
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. Download the ROM to your phone
4. Install the ROM (choose DATA WIPE)

I don't understand #2.
Is this step performed automatically when I flash ClockworkMod recovery from the ROM Manager app?

If not, how do I perform this step on my Droid?

It asks you if you would like to do a backup.

I guess what confused me initially is that this seemed almost too easy. Kind of too good to be true. But I guess it is really that simple.

why cant i down load the current ROM from the rom manager???? I have the paid app from the market and everytime i download the 5.0.4.3 it reboots up as 5.0.4.2? what gives?

I would imagine you have to select to install it from the card after you download it or is that part of the download process?

hey guys, got a major issue to me at least. Installed cyanogen and now my notification LED doesnt work any ideas? Its selected in handcent and I did a reboot and a battery pull and nothing. Need some help cause I like this ROM a lot but need the LED!!

oh and just to clarify I see it works for gmail but not for texts

Did you check Settings > Sound & Display?
There are options for the LED in there.

I didnt see led options in settings. Heres the weird part, if my screen is off the led comes on but as soon i unlock the screen it goes away even though i havent read the text. So the led light works, just doesnt work like its supposed to. I even tried missed call app with no luck. Someone help!

Home>Menu>Sound and Display>Pulse with screen on, put a check in it.
