No there are other kernels, I found some on alldroid, but I found Chevy's to run the best for me.

Don't use the lockscreen at all so I can't answer that second question.

I haven't really looked at the Smoked glass to see what it contains. MetaMorph and Bugless ERE25 Rom <-- that thread should be of more use to you for that though. Seems as though people have gotten smoked glass to work for them. You will probably just need to do some tinkering to get the theme to work with 2.1 .
