pete said there is no reason to be on a 2.0.1 rom since all the new 2.1 roms use the OTA dump as a base and he wont really be working on them anymore so i would say the 2.1

yes Thanks. I read that, but I was wondering if everyone agreed that the 2.1 is faster and more stable?

He is still working on his 2.0.1 ROM. He posted today that the next build of v1 will be from the ground up. There have been several people come back from the 2.1 ROM over the past few days because it is still very rough. It's fine for people the don't need high reliability on their phone but for the rest of use 2.0.1 is the better bet (at least for the next few days).
Also the 2.1 kernels are still VERY buggy (if you look at Chevy's "testers wanted" thread there are a lot of people having problems with them). Personally I'd give it a few days (and versions) to get some of the bugs ironed out.
I put v1.2 on the other day and it it flawless and FAST!!!!! much better than any current 2.1 I've run yet. Though granted this is likely because a lot of apps haven't been optimized for 2.1 yet so there's likely a lot of conflicts that will go away shortly.

You are right to be wary. There is much bullcrap. Be wary of me too, because I may be wrong. Make up your own mind after you evaluate all the evidence and the logic. - Mark Rippetoe
I'm new at all this and have been playing the past few days expirement and learning. I put BB 2.1 v0.5 on yesterday and it's running fine.
I did have a problem installing 2.1 though. I couldn't get past the first boot and the screen just stayed black. I wiped, went back to 2.0.1 and that was fine. Then I installed 2.1 on top of it and all has been fine since. It seems weird I could install 2.1 on top of 2.0.1 but not directly.
I installed chevys kernel12 at 1000max and 125 min and so far no issues, but I haven't run many apps yet.
I'm liking it so far!
2.1... update now since he is stopping all work on 2.0.1 roms.
I just upgraded to the 2.1 ROM last night - it's got some bugs with relation to apps and what not. Plus it's not themable yet - however, it seems pretty fast and runs cool with Chevy's Kernel at 1.1GHZ. Not sure I'll keep it though. Thankfully, switching back and forth is pretty easy
2.1 is the best by far.
