Hey guys!!
I decided to dive in and give it a shot! And build a custom ROM. HOWEVER, this is my FIRST ATTEMPT EVER at this. So CUT ME SOME SLACK if there are any issues or bugs (which I don't *think* you would have many anyway).
So, my plan was to not build on top of someone elses ROM. I wanted to revert to stock and basically start from scratch you could say. And that it is basically what I did. I just manually added most of all the features we all have become accustom to on our Droids.
I hope you guys enjoy it. It has been running pretty damn good for me so far. This ROM is more about the simplicity too me, simplicity and SPEED
Here are some screenshots....
What's included:
*2.1 Genie Weather widget
*2.1 Music Application
*2.1 Multi-touch Gallery
*Wifi Tether Application
*Milestone Multi-touch browser
*Overclock kernel with 10 slots (BIG thanx to ChevyNo1)
*Original Smoked Glass theme combined with the Elegant Droid theme (credit to AdamZ and Droid >)
*Custom bootanimation (credit to tdawg5480)
*Various apps moved to /system (Temp Monitor Lite, Pandora, SetCPU,)
*Busybox
*All /system apps are deodexed (credit to Speeddymon)
And NO...(this may be the deal breaker for a lot) there is NOT 5 screens. I kept 3 for now and *might* make another version with 5 in the future. And also, no, there are NO live wallpapers. If you want LW's you can figure it out![]()
And also, as soon as I can figure out what is wrong with xUltimate, I will include the default YouTube High Quality hack. Sorry about that one, I know that is a bummer
This is ONLY a NANDROID file. But you don't HAVE to WIPE DATA. I am only providing the Boot, System, and Recovery files in this nandroid. So you don't have to wipe data, but it can help sometimes if you are having issues....
(and this is all on you, so if you feck up your expensive Droid while using this nandroid file, it has absolutely nothing to do with me)
INSTRUCTIONS:
YOU HAVE TO BE ROOTED AND HAVE SPRECOVERY FLASHED TO YOUR PHONE (duh!!) AND ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE DOING THESE THINGS!!!
1) Download the file below toward the bottom of this thread
2) Extract the file onto your computer somewhere with something like WinRAR (you can Google it if you don't know what that is)
3) Copy the file that was extracted from the .rar file
4) Paste the file into your nandroid folder on your sdcard
5) Unmount your Droid and boot into recovery
6) (this is optional) Select to wipe data
7) (optional) Select to wipe cache
8) Select Backup/restore
9) Select Advanced nandroid restore
10) Select Choose backup
11) Choose the file you just put there
12) Only make sure you have Boot, Recovery, and System selected to restore
13) Select Perform Restore
14) Enjoy!!!
Let me know what you guys think about it....and of any bugs or issues you may have with it.
Here is the nandroid download link:

And apparently ??? I think xUltimate ripped the 2.1 clock out? Cause it's not on my phone anymore, and I uploaded the nandroid AFTER I used xUltimate that last time....so sorry, but just install the old fashioned way:
