New 2.1 Rom - Ultimate Droid

BlackDroid updated his Ultimate rom today (12/19/10). Below are some of the updates he included:

-NEW "Droid" themed 2.1 Launcher with usable buttons and fixed landscaped view
-NEW Updated Nexus Live Wallpapers (smoother performance & -fixes soft key hard reset issue)
-NEW Overclock up to 1.2ghz STABLELY (if your phone can handle it)
-NEW Framework to fix invisible notification issue
-NEW Option to Uninstall Advanced Task Manager, Startup Auditor (I recommend keeping them, but hey some wanted the option)

-NEW Host to correct all the download isssues you guys have come across (now linking from my personal host)
-NEW HTC IME Touch Input (Not for landscape)
-RETURNING MULTI TOUCH BROWSER!!!

Today was a good day for 2.1 roms. BlackDroid posted his new rom, Ultimate Droid. I didn't see a thread so here you go. Here is the link: AllDroid - View topic - Ultimate Droid ROM v1.0 - Themed, New Fixes, Extra Widgets.

Also, It was already posted but Pete came out with a 2.1 rom today too. I flashed both roms but went back to Simply Stunning (because I was too lazy to reload all my apps). Live wallpaper was working on both but on Pete's the live wallpaper was not reacting to touch. On Pete's he replaced the 2.1 launcher with the stock launcher (I'm a fan because 2.1 launcher is too buggy for me).

Going to give this a try. This looks promising, and it is going to have the reboot feature when hitting the power button.

This is some pretty good news

I didn't think Pete would come out with a 2.1 ROM til 2.1 was officially released....

Couple of observations

- This has autobrightness which Pete's does not
- Notifications are black on black
- I LOVE the 2.1 launcher with the phone and broswer, I wish I could just add this feature to my BB 0.7.5... I couldn't care less about the app drawer because I never use it but the browser and phone icons save space on my home screen for other icons.

Most importantly...this is the slowest rom I have ever used. Even with overclock set to 550/1000 and the DroidSwap set to 96-98MB, and having done a complete wipe prior to installing, the lowest benchmark I can get is about 140ms slower than my worst benchmark in Bugless Beast.

Here is what I see

no backlight on the keyboard
pull down of notification bar is white with black text (like 2.01 stock)
had to do a complete wipe and not restore data (did data the first time and would not load)
reboot option is there after hitting power.
doesn't say verizon, instead its tcdma 64

still checking things out
matth3w simply stunning rom has the same skin on the launcher and seems to be faster then this one.
