Very quick question regarding Sholes

What will happen regarding sholes after the 2.1 ota for the people who accept it.

If sholes is 2.01 root, does that mean that people who accept the 2.1 ota would have to wait for a newer sholes update inorder to root and then overclock. (I would assume using current sholes after the 2.1 ota would revert the system back to 2.01 thus negating the ota...)

Yes.

Sholes team will have to develop a new 2.1 ROM that has all the mods packaged within it......

Or, instead of accepting the OTA, you could just stay rooted and keep all the nice features of the ROM, and just wait for Sholes to release the new ROM and then update...

2.1 is being 'officially' released in a few days... you can have it then if you choose to unroot. Personally I'm going to stick with 2.0.1 Sholes for the over clock. Performance gain is worth it to me.

I figure I am just going to wait it out, odds are over the next month or two we'll see more 2.1 roms, and since I have most of the features already, I'll take sholes, since I doubt there's going to be anything "I just can't live without."

I would wait and give 2.1 a try. Since you haven't rooted already, you won't suffer like some of us from the loss of being over clocked. Your Droid won't run any different than your used to

Isn't that the "fear" every time until inevitably the new patch is rooted?

After all sholes is 2.01 instead of 2.0? The only reason I would accept the OTA is because the current 2.1 roms are still works in progress. I figure starting with the official and more efficient (than the current roms) 2.1 will allow people to build off of that rather than have to work from the ground up like they currently are. (adapting nexus to droid...)

No the Sholes ROM is NOT 2.1

It is a supped up version of 2.0.1, what you currently have.......I wouldn't suggest the currently available 2.1 ROMs if I were you, they're not very stable....

This ... plus 2.1 is going to be released later this week anyways.
