Bugless Beast vs Sholes... Who is the best!

I think Sholes is a better overall mod with people working heavily to improve development on it. But, at this point, Bugless is more stable, though Bugless doesn't feel as much like a custom rom as it does feel like a rom with all the addons that have been floating around tossed into it so we don't have to read 5 new "How do I get wifi tethering working" every day.

i vote for sholes simply for the fact that i can download it from the market, hit run and click a few options and in less than 15 minutes im rooted and ROM'd.

i have gone back to stock after trying out 2.0.2 since i had some issues but once they release 2.0.4 i will be rooting the phone again.

I guess what would help is someone to show the pro and con between Shoesmod and BB. What BB has that Sholes Mod does not, vice versa.

The #1 difference is going to be that a caveman could install sholes if they have a credit card and five bucks to download the map from the market.

sholes has done nothing but force close on me by just adjusting widgets and icons on the home screens...so far, no force closes at all with bugless

sholes all the way. the apk of the update can be found on the sholes site for free - which is a very nice option for someone like me who wasn't sure about paying $5. but after such a great experience i will be sure to donate. the idiot proof step-by-step installation is great especially the "menu" of selecting the components you want - almost a build your own rom - smoke theme, remove corporate calendar, email, amazon mp3 and facebook apps, 2.0 lock screen + wifi tethering and overclocking - all of the best parts that i wanted in a nice little package!

I've been using Bugless Beast for about 3 weeks now. Prior to that I initially had Sholes. Though I'm overclocking now and looking at the results of many benchmarks it would seem that Sholes overclocks better. I almost want to load up Sholes again and see if it has an impact on my OCing ability.

All of that aside. I've been very pleased with Bugless, Pete is very responsive to the desires of his supporters and is constantly working on new things. So I'd say the superior ROM is Bugless Beast.

Which one starts off with the most memory? After a clean install BB will leave you with around 200MB of free space. What about Sholes?

I am in the process of updating to Sholes from Bugless Beast. Once I do a Titanium Restore I will see how it goes and decide which is better.

i went from bugless beast 0.7.4 (I had a few battery pulls, FC) to the sholes 2.0.3. So far so good. The SM Updater worked really well.
