I am pretty sure it will NOT do OTA updates after the install. Well, not Normal Verizon OTA updates.

If you have the app, you can get Sholes team ROM updates running that.

Not really ...

Rooting the phone does not improve speed at all.

Also, this ROM does not default as Overclocked.

So, no, the first time you reboot, you will not be faster.

If you WANT to overclock, you can do so by buying setCPU from the market and you can use it in "AutoDetect Mode", then you can set the "Max" slider to 800MHz or 1000MHz. Then you would be overclocked.

setCPU also has "Profiles", so you can set it back to 550 if it gets hot or is low battery, or is charging. You can set a low clock for sleeping, etc.

If you do not want to but setCPU, then you can create a start up script like the one detailed here:

The script named /system/etc/rc.d/S99_set_cpu.sh that writes to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq and /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq will set min and max speed.

I personally recommend setCPU for the other profile settings, but you can do it with the startup script if you prefer,

I still want to know about future OTA updates. Can we do them?

No ... not without screwing up the ROM.

The sholes team will take updates and Mod them and release updates that you can download via the SholesMod Updater app. Or you have the option to remove the ROM. That would entail, uninstall the SholesMod Updater app and do this:

Once you did that, you could then do a Verizon OTA update.

SholesMod 141 (2.0.1)

i got sholesmod 140 (2.0.0)?!?! Obviously there's a new update. I thought i had the latest and greatest? I went to market and theres no update available on the sholes app? What did i miss as i've been monitoring this forum since....seem like forever..?
