    Custom ROM

    Try Cyanogenmod 7 or 9 or something. Its pretty fast

    Gingervolt

    Ended up getting a replacement phone. Luckily the Verizon store locally employs rocks. The new phone got rooted and gingervolted.......works well but would like to try a different ROM.
