    If you do the samething that I suggest to him it is doing the same thing as formating the system along with data.

    and i can confirm this worked

    i rebooted into SPrecovery

    wiped cache/data

    advanced nandroid restored system and boot from the smoked glass theme

    then advance nandroid restored data from the backup i had created before. rebooted phone and all is well now. dunno why it didnt work the first time.

    Forgive my noob question but, with the update of 2.1 coming out soon, will the update render this ROM basically useless? I haven't installed this yet but it looks like most things on here are based off of 2.1. The obvious things I see that are not would be tethering, the milestone browser, overclocking, and maybe a few other things. Sorry if this is a dumb question but Im just trying to learn about ROMs and such. What will be the difference between smoked glass and 2.1 once it is released. Thanks for the help.

    Hard to say since the update isn't out yet. Everything I want is in this ROM except live wallpapers and it will come eventually.

    just installed this ROM and OC'd phone to 1.1ghz using taz kernel..so far so good.

    edit: Linpack 9.191 mflops/s

    I had extreme instability with this rom and the 1.1GHz kernal. Rock solid with the 1GHz kernal though FWIW, my BFF CatsTide has been extremely stable with the 1.1GHz kernal...
