That was my plan, but despite my best efforts to make sure I have r/w access to /system/app, I seem to be unable to do so...
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
mv Camera.apk Camera.bak
mv /sdcard/downloads/Camera.apk /system/app - this is where I get an error that says failed on ' /sdcard/downloads/Camera.apk' - Cross-device link
That makes me feel better... I've failed at the same step. Oh well, I can wait for the originator of the ROM to post an updated version... Filming of my next Academy AwardŽ winning film will have to wait...
That definitely allowed me to replace the Camera.apk from the ROM with the original one sitting on the sdcard... but I cannot get the new (old) apk file to install and/or be accessible... oh well, one more restore and I'll call it a night... thanks for the attempt to help!
Just installed. I definitely like it that my widgets are all still in place. I've tried every ROM or install available. Each has it's strengths and I find the balance of speed and grace best here. I just noticed that when I clear cache with CacheMate I only have 139MB free. With my previous ROM I had 179MB free - anyone have any idea where that 30MB went? Could 30MB be gained by skinning all the default apps like tdawg's metamorph theme and the glass theme (that I think incorporated his theme) ? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about lost space in NAND. I'm just making an observation and asking a question.
Thanks to all who made this possible.
