Cyanogen7 Volume Unlock.. Possible?

Hi everyone,

I just returned to CM after a while of whoring around with Liquid and Steel and various others, only to return hoping to find greener pasture void of glitches and battery drain. So far it's been good, Few glitches. Not as fast as some other roms and not the greatest battery, but I don't know.

Anyway, when I was running liquid and steel, there was this option in the rom settings that allowed me to wake the phone by pressing the volume rocker. My On/Off button is broken, so i used that to wake the phone up and i linked an app that locks my phone to a long-press on the home button. In CM, the long-press feature works, but I can't find anything about waking up with the volume, having to resort to opening the keyboard (annoying)

I have yet to find a way to turn on my phone from being completely off without the button.

Also, does anyone have good advice on a kernel to use with CM7 and an OG droid, a good mix of battery savings and not being slow as crap.

Chevyno1 800 low volt. In cm7 settings > input should volume rocker wake

That's weird, under my "Input" settings there is only "Long-press home settings," "Search Key behavior" "Haptic Feedback tweaks" "Volume button music control" and "Camera button music control"

What version are you on? I know 7.1 has the feature.

Update to 7.1 RC1 or the latest nightly. It has that feature. Although if you want to you could rollback to FroYo and use Sourcery or Droid Concepts. Very VERY solid and I have had just as good battery life on those 2 roms as CM7.

Okay. 2 Questions.. First, if I update to 7.1, Do I have to wipe data and cache? Second, Is the 7.1 glitchy? It isn't a "stable" release and I am not very knowlegeable on the stability of release candidates. I would rather not have volume unlock on my phone than have the ROM be glitchy.
