New to Rooting, need ROM help
Hello everyone,
I just recently rooted my phone and applied CM6 to my D1. I wanted to know if this is a good rom for daily use, like constant texting and calls and playing with apps. As I was playing with my new rom, I did feel my phone a little warmer. Should I be concerned and switch to a more basic rom or am I good? I just want a smoother phone than before because when I had it at stock 2.2.2 it was extremely laggy. Any help or tips would be appreciated.
thanks

For me Cyanogenmod is warmer than stock on my original Droid, but the ROM is as stable as a third-party ROM is going to be, meaning it'll be fine for everday use but you might run into a bug or two. If you like being able to customize everything on your phone you'll have tons of fun with it

I don't own an OG Droid anymore, but I would suggest CM7 or the MIUI ROM. These are 2 excellent ROMs.

CM7 can be a bit buggy at times depending on the kernel, or even depending on the phone itself, but its FANTASTIC. My experience with MIUI has been poor, it seems to lag a ton on my particular Droid although many love it

Soo my phone would be fine with a little heat? And maybe CM7 over 6?

CM6 is more stable than CM7, but CM7 has a couple more features basically. Both versions will be warmer than stock which is perfectly fine

Heating is normal when the phone is overclocked, i haven't tried any of the cm's in a long time but if the kernel it comes with by default is OC'd to 800 or more it will heat more then stock that is set for 550.
