I spent all day yesterday checking out OG Froyo roms cuz I was a little tired of GB instability. I am running GimpSource 3.1 with the GB theme and a 1.2 Slayher kernel... its nice to have some stability for once... so far running very smooth.

Also CM 6.1.2 with deprimed's kernel is really nice as well, just wanted a lil change from CM.

Luckily all the OG Froyo roms are in their final forms, so I can only recommend what my preference is. There's a lot of good og froyo roms out there really.

Edit: Oh btw: GimpSource does have one of the most up to date versions of Froyo in his sub-forum, but it's barebones. That's why I went with 3.1 which is FRG83D but comes with options under the hood and a few themes available for it.

Tried many Roms both GB and Froyo... I feel the same about the lack of stability on GB so always came back to Froyo quickly.

For the most featured recent Froyo rom give Sourcery Rom a run. Its FRG83G 2.2.2 the most recent Froyo. 14 one click themes, one click kernel changer with 12 options.. and a builtin boot animation changer. It has a really cool GB and Galaxy S theme..

Gotta say, I been trying out sourcery since last night. What a fun cool rom it is! I'm impressed. Wish someone would pick up development for it. Still a great rom right where its at.

Coming from ss 5.3 give ud 2.5 a whirl. Make sure though you got a good kernel because the stock one with it is a VERY warm kernel.
