No rom runs smooth on my OG Droid
Hey Everyone,
Looking for a bit of help here. I been rooting my droids since the start. I'm glad these forums have been around to help me when I needed. I been a bit of a lurker and havent had the need to post anything until now.
I recently was sent a 3rd replacement droid after my screen freaked out and became "possesed". I was able to root fine using the sbf_flash method on my Mac.
But it seems as if NO rom runs smoothly on this "new" droid. I have tried BB,SS,PE,Droid Concepts,Steel Droid. nothing.
Does anyone have any input on what I should do? Am i doing something wrong? I never had this problem with my other OG Droid, SS used to be snappy and smooth.
Thanks,
Mike

Try Ultimate droid and see what is going on. Try 2.5 froyo and the GB 3.2.5
I tried SS and it was fine. I assumed you wiped everything when flashing.

Moto Droid

UD 2.5
RedmanX Theme

yea i wiped at least 3 times, each time. I've tried UD and Froyo, same symptoms. Laggy and force closes. And it seems my camera freezes with every rom.
-
In addition to wiping try clearing you dalvik cache and format system partition. I would give Sourcery a run, its the best Froyo Rom i tried. If you do, install version 2.0 first then 2.2
and of course don't forget gapps..

Ultimate droid or raidzero are your bets.
Sent from a DROIDX that had been flashed more times then a bead vendor at mardi gras.

I'll try them out again.
Does anyone know why this Droid isnt being as friendly as my last one? Do refurbished ones have different hardware?
-
I don't think that the hardware should be any different. Sometimes a rom will run smoothly on one droid and not on another. Happened to me. Cyanogen ran perfect on my first droid and not so much on my second. Your phone might just be pissy. Lol.

Give Liquid's roms a shot....I ran lfy(froyo) with no problem and currently am running LGB1.52 (gingerbread) with no problems.

Liquid is good as well. I prefer raidzero though just for the speed and stability. Raidzero recovery is the best out there for the og droid. As well as his over clock kernels. It is only froyo. Ultimate Droid 3.0 was the most stable ginger bread rom out there in my opinion. Too bad you can't get liberty for the og droid.
