well i just flashed UD using RZrecovery and everything is smooth once again. I'll probably pick up a new SD if things go crazy again.

Do u have ur phone overclocked? U may want to set a profile for charging to underclock ur phone while charging to keep it cool.

nah its not, but it was acting as it was. i went and bout a new SD, i was able to install SS and it was running fine for a while. my battery life is sh*t for some reason, might try a different kernel, if not go back to froyo.
try out Primes kernals, I have had nothing but success with them. Go to the cyanogen page and look there there is an entire thread on it.
