What's your favorite rom for OG Droid?

I just can't get gingerbread roms to play nice with my phone! Does anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong. All the froyo roms work smooth. But with gb, most of the apps don't work and they seem to lag a lot.

ProjectElite 4.2 is my latest favorite. I was on UltimateDroid 2.5 and then tried their new 3.0, but something wasn't agreeing with my phone (though now I realize it may have been my fault, you have to be careful when using Titanium — don't try to replace Gingerbread system apps with backed-up Froyo versions).

Im not sure why some if you are having problems with gb on ur d1.

I haven't had any issues. I started with gpa11 and it didn't run too smooth even with skater 1.0gz overclock.

I am currently running lgb and love it. Super smooth and fast. Haven't had any crashes or bugs.

Maybe its kernal issues that is your problem. Gb requires an ovrrclock of at least 800gz. Try different kernals before you dismiss gb. No way id go back to froyo.

I always use either Slayer's 1.1ghz or Chevy's 1.2ghz kernels because I like speed over battery time (I have chargers everywhere, lol). For the most part the rom was fairly smooth but very few of my apps actually worked.

I switched over to steel droid. Almost stock rom but flys on my phone, the make minimalist script fits with my fondness for a minimal look. Dev is also always willing to help with any problems you may have. He also just released a gingerbread rom.

Just installed the latest Project Elite. So far it's the fastest feeling rom I've tried yet. No hyperbole here, I'm blown away. Granted, it's only been an hour or so so far.

I have been on P.E. v4.2 for awhile and I don't think you will get tired of it. I continue to try others but always end up flashing back to P.E.

"CM 6.1.2" + "ChevyNo1 5 slot 1.25GHz kernal" running at 1GHz = Blazing speed (Quadrant in the mid 1400s) and decent battery life.

I have run this for a while and there a few bugs. The camera occasionally gets a little crazy, but other than that it is solid.
