Oh nice. I guess I'll try one out.
Cool man. Checking it out now. Also, this:
Can you use a 2.2 Kernel on GB?? Find out inside...
Edit: I gave it a go, but as soon as I tried I got a message of mismatching MD5. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

My SetCPU and Linpack benchmarks were comparable to my 2.2 setup (sapphire + jdlfg 1266MHz). Quadrant seemed a bit faster but unfortunately would stop running when starting the 3d tests. Too bad because it seemed quite faster.
Doesn't 2.3 come with updated notifocaton sounds? The scrolling animaton is awesome and the UI does.feel faster than 2.2. Dolphin Mini would crash after trying to load a new tab. All my apps showed up in the market with the new fingerprint. I was impressed with that. What happened to the animation that occurs when hitting the power button? I might have missed it or is it not working? Had to put 2.2 back on before I could test more because I needed to get some work done.
Good job so far everyone! It's coming along very quickly.
Edit: The new text selectors for selecting text/words works far better than I expected. :-)
How did you get this to work? It failed ASAP on me. :/
All I did was unzip the nandroid folder in the download into my /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder" reboot into recovery and nandroid > restore backup. I tossed a 1266MHz JDLFG kernel on there before I booted up. That's it...since it's a Nandroid it should be fairly consistent for everyone. Or so I thought. Are you installing any kernels after you restore the backup? If so, try a different one or.stock.
Also, after unzipping the download, the actual folder containing the backup is two folders deep (if I remember correctly) so make sure when you copy the nandroid folder over that there aren't anymore nested folders inside.
That's about all I can think of at the moment. Where exactly are you running into issues?
Dragged / dropped the zip to clockwork > backup. Unzipped there. Went to restore and as soon as it tried to read the MD5 it failed. No chance of booting or worrying about the kernel...
It said the same exact thing for me also "MD5 sum didnt match" or something like that.
"Three words can sum up what i"ve learned about life, IT GOES ON!" "Wise men talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something."
1. Corrupted download?
2. Make sure the path looks like this: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/Gingerbread-4-OG-Droid and that the *.img and *.md5 files are in this folder. I had to move this folder out of another after I unzipped.
3. Stupid question but it's the only other thing I could fathom..both of you are trying to install to a Motorola Droid, right? (Cause I see that one of you have an Eris listed as your phone)
If it's not one of these issues then someone else will have to chime in.
LoL Yea, I have a D1. See my other posts in this forum. I have a cobbled together GB rom and a kernel thread. I just joined awhile ago and have been too lazy to change my phone status. I am gonna redownload it and try it again.
