metiCKOne FRG83D + Gingerbread theme by Davros

I have put together metiCKOne's FRG83D deodexed ROM and Davros' Gingerbread theme in one ROM.

I put together this ROM with speed in mind and for those that like Davros' Gingerbread theme.

This ROM has been slimmed down significantly:

• Stripped Google apps, re-download from market
• busybox, sysrw, sysro - binaries for ease of use
• Modified build.prop for speed and battery saving techniques
• No OTA update notifications
• All wallpapers and live wallpapers removed
• Boot animation removed

This ROM contains Davros' latest Gingerbread theme integrated:

• All themed apps from Davros
• Gingerbread keyboard
• Gingerbread notification bar theme
• Latest Market app
• Get your Gingerbread icons here

ROM also contains Gingerbread themed LauncherPro as the provided launcher (by Benny879).

Do I need to use a third party software to replace system icons with your icon pack? I tries flashing it, but that didn't work.

Seems like something simple but I never figured it out , other than using an app.

I also have the "true" ginger bread icons waiting for me to make an update zip or a theme update with a lot of additions and such.


There's also the black gmail with a "ginger bread" notification icon. I personally likke the look.

I will be adding everything to my new, mis spelt, google.code page when I am off work.

The ROM seems to work great except for the Navigator. It gets stuck at "Getting Driving Directions". If I use Google Maps to get written driving directions, that works just fine. And I've got both Use GPS and Use Wireless Networks settings enabled in the Location & Security settings.

I'm thinking this may have something to do with the Text-to-Speech service. Titanium Backup shows a crossed-out entry for it with the checkmark (data-only) backup icon, but I can't restore it, and I can't find it in the Market.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on? I love the Gingerbread theme, so I might have to flash back to MetiCKOne's stock FRG83D ROM and then apply the Gingerbread theme separately if I can't get this sorted out, because I need my navigator.

Updated to the 1.4 theme, and the Navigator issue is fixed.
