"If you want FRG83D, root, the ability to overclock and access to future modifications you want this....FRG83D-Deodexed-m1-v2.zip
Potentially NOOB question here:
How does the FRG83D-Deodexed-m1-v2.zip Rom differ from the MetiCMod-FRG83Dv.07.zip ROM ?
Thank you in advance,
ok metiCkMOD isa stripped down version of the FRG83D with out any bloat v.7 is metiCk's last release of this rom. I have started releaseing the new versions of metiCkMOD i have a modded versions of the metickMOD, avail as davrosMOD1 V1.0 its the same as metiCk's rom with my own modding down to it. right now i am trying to build from source to release the next generation of metiCkMOD ...
PEI. the choice is yours, my rom mod is just as good but will be supported from now till the end.MetiCk will be around but not as much as he was, he rightnow is my silent partner in all of this. and my guru and building coach.
davrosMOD1 FRG83D v1.0 is there ......
LONG LIVE METICKMOD
metiCkMod is a custom rom I made using FRG83D as a source. It has more free space than the other one and has speed optimizations. Try them both out and see which one you like better. v0.7 will probably be my last solo rom. Unless I feel the need to make one in the future . You never know. Davros will be building the roms from now on but I'll still be in communication with you him often and you guys once in a while.
Well, I am running v.07 now and it pretty much looks the same as I was using before (.
Fast and terrific as usual!
I did a wipe of my cache prior to update, and all looks good except for my email which is exchange.
Now my email, calendar and contacts from Exchange are gone.
I can add the info to get back to the Exchange server, but Droid cannot open a connection to the server. Bad news for work tomorrow!
Is there a different setting I need to add/make to this new update?
(my Facebook, GMail, and already downloaded apps are still there)
I'd like to try a safe kernel...which one of ChevyNo1's or Slayer's should I try?
Thank you so much,
Edit: Always test different kernels though as phones vary a LOT by which kernel runs best. Every kernel available is a good one though.
"The stock kernel is a decent one... but I've gotten my best results from slayher's LFY 1100 kernel. But as far as a safe bet, go with an 800 mhz version instead."
Okay, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the input....
I'll concur with that kernel choice too...the 1100 has been my go to kernel, it boots up on every rom I have tried without issue so far. Some roms just don't play well with the higher clocked models.
