Rooted | Stock | Odexed & Deodexed | FRG83D
Based off the latest OTA patch that has been pushed out
Stock Froyo w/ root & busybox (best for people who like to keep things as stock as possible and wont necessarily theme or mod)
FRG83D | Stock | Rooted | Busybox | Odexed

Stock Froyo, Deodexed w/ root & busybox (Best for themers and modders and makes a great base for rom developers)
FRG83D | Stock | Rooted | Busybox | Deodexed
- Stock kernel (Overclocks to 800mhz, supports wired and wireless tether)
- Added Superuser to the latest version 2.3.6.1 ( SOURCE )
- Placed SU in bin so Superuser can update the binaries when necessary
- Placed busybox in xbin
--- Install instructions ---
Clockworkmod Instructions: Place file anywhere on your sdcard, boot into recovery, select install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard, and select the appropriate zip file.
SPRecovery Instructions: Rename file to update.zip, place on the root of your sdcard (meaning not in a folder on your sdcard), boot into recovery - install - Allow update.zip Installation - Install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)
Wipe or not? It is my recommendation that everyone wipes data & cache no matter what build they are coming from. Also, you should only use titanium to re-install apps without the data. It kinda sucks to re-enter all your info, accounts and bookmarks and re-download apps but in the end, if you run into problems you won't wonder if it’s because you didn't wipe data/cache.
P.S. Wiping data/cache once is enough, if you want to clear more data, format your partitions using clockworkmod. Make sure you have a backup or update.zip on your sdcard when doing this because your phone will not boot after you wipe system and boot partitions. Be very careful not to format your sd card when doing this.

*That tutorial was written a good while ago so some of the info may be outdated. I'd recommend using PRL 6499 found on page 5 of that thread.
As for the
u2nl and
autostart.sh files those can be found here:
http://www.whiterabbit.org/android/u2nl.zip
*For more information go here:
Android - whiterabbit.org
If you flash a different ROM to your phone without wiping data the contents of /system/bin are still overwritten and that is where u2nl is stored. /data/opt/autostart.sh might also be deleted so you may want to keep a copy of that.
Permissions for both autostart.sh and u2nl are done in the command line with ADB shell.
Code:
adb shell
chmod 755 /data/opt/autostart.sh
chmod 755 /system/bin/u2nl
Note: if after typing adb shell you see $ instead of # type 'su'.
Permissions can also be set the same way on the phone with any terminal emulator app; I personally prefer Better Terminal Emulator Pro.
Permissions can also be set on the phone with Root Explorer by tapping and holding on the file and then clicking Permissions on the popup menu. Here's what the permissions should look like:

I had to re-upload the deodexed version because I forgot to update superuser. It's up now and working perfectly. If you downloaded the one that doesnt show the superuser icon, just download it from the market or flash the new deodexed file. Either way both work perfectly.

Yeah I'm already rolling...Ill go to market.

Meti are you gonna make a "lite" version?

I lost my "Soup or Root" superuser privilege by forcing the FRG83d update. Can the FRG83D Odexed be flashed with the stock recovery?
Thanks
