    Thanks
I think your recovery got hosed. Do you have access to a pc?
Yeah I've got a Windows 7 and an XP machine as well.

Should I just delete the "FRG22D to FRG83D" update file from Verizon from my cache first?
    ..
You should delete it but you dont need to. I gave you credit in the op for the file, which I meant to do in the first place but forgot. Thanks again for that.

No, I never needed it for the "Soup or Root" process.

I think I get where your headed though. So, I can follow one of the guides like "ROOT Droid 1 - regardless of OS version" and use your zip as the input?

Yeah exactly. You dont need the root file from motocache1 just reflash your recovery using the sbf method and use one of my roms as the update.zip.

This zip has two sbfs. One of them is the recovery sbf and the other is the FRG22D sbf. You dont need that one but it's there anyway. The update.zip is the one from motocache1 which you dont need for this procedure either. Just download rsdlite, reflash your recovery using the "MC1_A855_1282081087_Recovery-Only_SPRecovery_0.99.3b" file flash the rom of your choice.

The odexed version didn't work for me for some reason. Just a heads up. Deodexed worked without a hitch.
