What do you want to see in a rom?

I've been working on a pet project of mine recently, trying to get into the swing of things, and finally have a nice stable rom going. I've added a few features here, and a few features there, but I am wondering what the community likes in a rom? Do you like more features, if so what? would you rather it be small, lightweight and only have the essentials? If so, what are the essentials to you? Do you like BIG FLASHY things, or an overall stock feel?

I'm not exactly sure if I will ever get around to releasing anything, as the Droid 1 rom scene is already crowded with many great roms, but it's always nice to get the input of the community on something like this. Any comment is welcome, so please, give me some input

speed, stability and a nice (dark) theme. I loved the old kangerade builds where he would essentially just theme CM, but they never ran well on my droid. CM6 is my favorite rom as of now. Im waiting for the new sapphire to be released since it may take that spot.

Save the flash for the new phones. The D-1 is best at being a stable platform that will run the latest OS and apps. The only theming that makes sense is the basic black bar theme to get away from the staring into a searchlight effect when checking notifications. The D-1 wil settle into its palce as a highly reliable phone with stellar internet apps.

if i was going to build my perfect ROM, it would have the following:
    1. Must have sampsonites keep home in memory hack built in.
    2. would love to be able to add my music/pandora widgets to the status bar
    3. built in overclocking with profiles if that is possible
    3. latest build of Gapps built in but have them be able to update from the market.
    4. black status bar
    5. wycontacts and cytown phone
    6. use music as alarm
    7. be able to change the color of pretty much everything (power control widget, button presses, status bar stuff) on the fly.
