you can try it without wiping, just make sure you back it up first....it should install and run fine...it will wipe boot and system and install the new Rom overtop....but if you have any issues i suggest wiping...

since this is a source built rom (frg83), and PE v1 was frg22d, i would strongly recommend a wipe to ensure a clean install!!! PLEASE...

Source is 2.2.1 but build numbers have nothing to do with source versions and are device specific.

Motorola Droid's current build version is FRG22D (for proprietary files) used to build a rom from 2.2.1 source.

Nexus One has an FRG83 build number....but that has nothing to do with the Motorola Droid.

However...I agree that going from a edited ROM to a source ROM, it would be best to wipe.

im really glad this rom got some front page recognition. It's personally the best rom I have ever used. (lfy 1.7 is up there) Fast, stable, and good on battery. People need to just flash it and come up with their own verdicts. You will not be disappointed.

??? Invertnito (by shocka2430/bgill), Cold Fusion (by kookahdoo), Galaxy S, and Revolution have already been ported since early after release. they're all really cool themes! i'm running invertnito right now, and it's anything but "visually bland", imho...
