Ok, a success. What I had to do was reinstall Rom Manager, set it to SPRecorvy, reboot into the recovery menu, select allow update to install, and then install. Worked great. Thanks for bearing with me.

I used DMupdater, and thats how I rooted. The only thing I did is flashed one of Chevy's Kernel on my droid to overclock.

I have ROM Manager, and flashed SPRecovery and made nandroid backups.

So based on what you're saying, I will get the OTA update?

Also when/if I do get the update, will I lose everything and/or will my Kernel still be there?

Sorry for all the stupid questions lol
You'll get the notification. As to installing, you probably will have to do it manually, but it should download fine and install fine. When it does you'll have your kernel replaced and lose root, and all the applications that require it will stop working, but everything else should still be there. Even if it's non-functional. It should also replace SPRecovery at the same time.
If I install 2.2 manually, then will I lose root as well?

If it's the OTA as pushed to you, yes. If it's ROM that's exactly the same except it's had root added that you downloaded from one of the Devs, no. It depends on what you want to do.

Even if we get it OTA and lose root all you have to do is Re-Root and install a new kernel and you're back to rooted with the latest build.

Ya don't need engadget for that news. Three people have gotten here over the last several hours.

Oh I know. I just needed to harass a little bit before finally going to sleep for a few hours.

Nice to see things rolling again.

Ahh I see things are going back to the norm.
    I have a question.
I installed this new update; is the new Easy Root ready for this one?
I believe I'm due given that 2.2 might be the last for D1.

    sent from MyD1.
