IMO, and this is probably nothing new, just not going to read through the WHOLE thread right now, but there is a lot htat needs improvement, I know Iread some of this mentioned, but I want to post what I would like to see.

    Obviously landscape mode
better sound quality (sounds very compressed)
"favorite artist" like most of the actual radios have to notify you when an artist or song is on that you have saved
    a record feature
better connection quality, thing seems to drop connectivity v. frequently in areas where pandora, etc work flawlessly.

I really don't think this is picking up a 'satellite' feed the hardware just isn't there, it's all internet streaming. Not to mention what does "near one" mean in terms of satellites, you are never near one.

Yea I thought his description was a little iffy also, I believe he means "near a satellite receiver"

You are not going to get the same coverage as you would with a typical XM Radio device as they are satellite based.

You don't get the ability to record the music, or anything of the sort. Why not just pay a one time fee of $2.99 and get Radiotime. It has talk shows, music, and all the rest that you would get with the XM app without the monthly cost. Additionally you can listen to LOCAL stations, that you already know and like.
How do you come up with 150.00 a year? If you already have XM or Sirius installed it's like 3.00 a month more. That's 36.00 a year.

I don't know anything about Raidotime but the reason I subscribe to XM is because of Deep Tracks, which nobody else has anything like and for an occasional baseball game. Anyway I have a friend who's a DJ on Classic Vinyl. Dusty Street, make sure you listen to her show.
Really? Deep Tracks and Classic Vinyl are pretty much the only music stations I listen to, aside from talk/news.
Agreed, I came to the same conclusion as TechnoMan. For the first two or three years I had Sirius it was worth it since my car only had a cd player and am/fm radio, when my cd player bit the dust I was stuck listening to FM radio and after 2 or 3 weeks of that I switched to Sirius since public radio is crap and it was a PITA for me since I go from my college to my house about 2x a month and constantly would have to change radio stations. I bought the Stiletto 2 since I needed an MP3 player for around campus and thought it would be great to listen to Sirius while walking around, that was until I found out that the internal antenna was a giant piece of crap.

Once I got my droid I realized that SiriusXM has served it's purpose and is way too expensive (~$200/year, ~$150 for satellite and the rest for streaming) compared to how little I use it (maybe 5-10 hours a month total) and since I only really listen to 3 stations (Octane, Lithium and Faction). I'm going to save ~$150/year by paying $50 for slacker pro and Selling my Stiletto 2.

I had that same package when I signed up with sirius. My package was to include online listening. $12.99 a month. One day I was like, cool I will listen online, I could not log in. Called Sirius and that is when they told me I have to pay another $2.99 to get the online radio. I feel that is BS, because I have Sirius in the car and barely use it, maybe 2 to 3 times a week.

Honestly I am about ready to cancel the whole thing. I really want to be able to listen to nascar 128 and I can't even do that on the online channel.

I called XM and was told the Online and the Droid app use the same login so if you have online already paid for, it should work.

If you have paid a years subscription for XM on the radio, you will have to pay extra for for online..Online was free 2 years ago..

For those complaining about the audio quality: Are you on the 7 day free trial?

I was just on the phone with Sirius (which was frustrating in itself, but that's another story) and the guy I talked to who was trying (but failing) to get my Sirius Internet Radio service hooked up told me that the Trial stream is 32kbps where the normal Premium stream is 128kbps.

Also... I hear that Howard is not available on this, which is perfectly fine with me since I never listened to him when I had Sirius, but I also hear that the channels listed on their website are the ones you get. Howard 100 and Howard 101 are both listed on the Sirius Internet Radio Channel Guide, so I'm confused.

I used to listen to 108 all the time (when it was Maxim radio), is that one included?

btw, if anyone out there works for Sirius (not on-air, account management and the like), I would be seriously interested in talking to you about my conversation I had when I called.

I thought I posted this earlier in the thread but I can't find it. So if I'm posting twice get hold of a mod and tell them about it.

I'm on full subscription, sound quality is terrible, so compressed, hissing, not to mention connection dropping. Free Pandora/Slacker/etc is making this look REAL bad IMO.

Interesting. That is a different lineup than I posted from the Sirius side... Weird. I wonder why the 2 are different (other than one being on the XM site and the other being on the Sirius site)...they are the same company afterall.
