Some new AnTuTu benchmarks have shown up online which are supposedly of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5. These benchmarks include specs which contradict earlier rumors. According to these benchmarks, the Galaxy S5 will come with a 1920 x 1080 display with 480 pixel-per-inch (ppi) density, a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor & Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.
Previously we reported higher end specs than these. Two different earlier rumors suggest the SGS5 will come with a newer Snapdragon 805 CPU (or octa-core 64-bit Exynos SoC), a WQHD (2K) resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) display, and 3GB RAM.
We aren't sure why there is a discrepancy between the intel, but we can't say we are surprised by this. The previous rumors seem a bit on the optimistic side. Of course, we would love to see the higher-end specs come true and will applaud if they do, but we also won't be surprised if the SGS5 ends up with the specs from this newer rumor. Regardless, this benchmark could prove to be false or misleading as well. We will keep an eye on this and let you guys know if anything new pushes this one direction or the other.
