I was really hoping both phones would be a top notch launch l, if the iPhone launches with that 1800mah battery. ...lol.

I was wondering the other day if this was something I was even worried about anymore. With my Charge, Rezound, GNex, I was always replacing batteries. But with the S3 I hardly ever had to replace it, and with the S4 I never have. I'm what I call light user though, and I can always find a cable plugged in somewhere close to get a boost during the day if i need one. If the metal S5 has a non-replaceable battery I won't be too concerned.

If anything goes wrong with the battery, you lose the phone.

Not necessarily. The batteries can be replaced, you just have to take it apart some. I've replaced glass and LCD's, I'm not worried about being able to change a battery.

Well, yes. But only for the tech adept. The average user is screwed.

I wouldn't say the average user is screwed, they could contact Samsung to probably get their battery replaced by them, though it will probably take a few days. I'm sure once the phone is released and just a few short months later, local cell phone repair shops will have access to these batteries and be able to provide the service of replacing them. I know a few shops around here offer that kinda thing to iPhone users so I don't see why that service wouldn't be offered to Android users with non-removable batteries.

Because it's just one more thing that was once free that we now have to pay for.

You're just down-right determined to be grumpy about this aren't ya? lol I'm just messing with you. We don't know if the battery is replaceable or not yet.

Hopefully it will be. I'll never buy another phone without a removable battery.
