US Court Throws Out Apple's Patent Lawsuit Against Motorola

Just yesterday, a U.S. District Court in Madison, Wisconsin, threw out Apple's lawsuit against Motorola. Apple was suing Motorola claiming that Motorola's patent licensing practices were unfair. The judge in the case dismissed Apple's lawsuit "with prejudice." Here's a quote with the details,

"We're pleased that the court has dismissed Apple's lawsuit with prejudice," a Google spokeswoman said in an emailed statement on Monday.

Dismissal of a case with prejudice means the case is over at the trial court level, though it can be appealed.

Apple could not immediately be reached for comment.

"Motorola has long offered licensing to our extensive patent portfolio at a reasonable and non-discriminatory rate in line with industry standards," Google said in its statement. "We remain interested in reaching an agreement with Apple."
It looks like the tide may be slowly turning against Apple's legal battles. What do you guys think?

Did the company that patented rectangular devices with round corners actually sue someone over unfair patent practices????????????? You got to be kidding me, talk about the kettle calling the pot black.

Apple shouldn't have angered the UK judge. Judges, like the lawyers that they are, are thicker than thieves.
The Samsung suit appeal in California will be swayed by Apple's actions in the UK imo.

Let's hope so cause you do know that the lawsuit was held in San Jose, ca. Apple's main headquarters is in Cupertino, ca. It's only a 10min drive from there. So, no wonder they won that lawsuit here in California. Lol

It seem Apple's legal team has thrown their weight around too much and the ground is falling out from beneath the big bad school yard bully.

    N. CA is pretty ridiculous with what they let proceed in terms of lawsuits anyways

I love that it was with prejudice in this case. So often they're w/o and it's a misleading sense of relief
