Google Nexus 7 8GB Version Removed From Google Play Store; Possibly Forever

It certainly looks like the rumors of a 32GB Google Nexus 7 replacing the 16GB version and pushing it down to replace the 8GB version are accurate. The 8GB version of the Google Nexus 7 is no longer on the Google Play Store. This was probably done ahead of the official announcement we will likely get on October 29th. The add on the Google Play Store still has a "coming soon" tagline, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be back.

Of course, we should know the whole truth on Monday, and will share are the details then, so stay tuned!

I wonder how much I can sell my 16 gig for. I want the 32 gig model. I had to remove some things because I was down to 500megs free. I use an OTG cable and a 32gig flash drive but still...I'd prefer to have the storage space internal.

Wonder if coming soon means coming back at a lower price like Amazon did with their non HD Fire?

If the 16GB lowers to $199 I have no problem with it.

i think there was speculation that the 8 gig was either going to be sold for $150 or marked down to clearance $100 to get rid of the remaining stock.

I am sorry, there should never be a device in toda'ys day and age attempting to be sold with 8 or even 16 gigs of storage, when the OS already takes close to 2 gigs of that number away, especially devices that have no option for an external micro SD card. Only reason they are doing this is to sell their cloud service, which is BS. Same can be said for the upcoming Nexus 4 by LG with only 8 Gigs of storage and no Micro SD expansion slot, what are there people thinking, it's not like storage is expensive nowadays, how much more would it cost these companies to put a healthy 64 Gigs of internal storage in these devices, most people would pay the additional 20-30 dollars that it costs these companies to expand the internal memory.

Lots of people disagree with you though. My son is very happy with his 16g n7 and has not even filled it up halfway.

It's amazing how easy it is for people to convince themselves that a lie is the truth.

Apparently yo do not use much of the play store, or load any apps, myself I do, plus I like to load my own uncompressed music to my device, it's called WMA lossless, and how about movies, I currently have over 40 gigs of movies "ever heard of DVD Catalyst - " and music on my 64 Gig micro SD card "that I can just pull out and use on any device that has such an expansion slot "like my S3, or Rezound"", like I said, the reason they did this is so you purchase compressed crap from their cloud service, only reason for the small storage space, 8 gigs really, more like 6 gigs after the OS, LOL. If I am going to purchase a device for $200 plus, it better have a micro SD slot "it costs them pretty much nothing to have one on the device", if I wanted an iPad I would have gone the Apple route "hence, no expansion", and stuck in their cloud, no thank you.
