    HTC Desire X Officially Unveiled

HTC has been keeping a low profile lately (which makes us worry just a bit), but they did just issue a press releasing officially unveiling their new Desire X mid-range device. Here's the scoop on the specs:
    • 4.0-inch LCD screen with WVGA, (480 x 800-pixel resolution)
    • Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon S4 Play chip clocked at 1GHz - (It's important to note that this is not one of the 28nm chips seen in high-end devices. This is a modest Cortex A5 chip using 45nm technology. It is called the S4 Play, and does not perform as well as its bigger brother the 28nm S4.)
    • 5-megapixel camera with backside illuminated sensor
    • HTC’s ImageChip with fast activation, burst shots (but much slower, at 2 frames per second) and VideoPic that lets you to take still shots while recording video. (Video recording stops at 480p, instead of 720p.
    • Beats Audio

The phone is expected to hit markets like Europe, Africa and Asia in September, but we have no word on a US launch. Here's the press release below,

Overall, it seems rather bland, but then again, it's not easy to get too excited about mid-range devices.

WVGA, on a 4" display in 2012... Should be at least qHD.

I do not see the point of producing mid ranged devices when they could just sell older devices as mid ranged devices. IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!

Why does HTC keep making all their devices look the same?

Why are there typos in an official press release?
