HTC phones haven't had much lag since the original droid incredible  but I guess it is all a matter of opinion! It is true that I have most of my experience and opinions about Motorola due to the Droids 1 and 2, which were so unbelievably slow. But, I am quite surprised to hear someone say that Samsung phones are laggy. What?
Like some other's I have to agree. I had a Moto backflip prior to my D2G, and while it was a small under powered device, once CM6 came around, it made it in to a descent little device so long as you weren't expecting to do hardcore gaming or the like. While my original D2G and original Backflip both required returns due to defects, I have to say my second device of each model has held up quite well. I wont hesitate to go with Moto for a D4(or similar) when my upgrade comes. Now I have not tried Samsung or HTC phones, but I do agree, they seem to be doing good things as well. If they have a good phone that offers a physically tangible qwerty keyboard, I may give them consideration.

Totally agree. Latest blur isn't bad but I prefer the plane jane of stock Android.
I love the GNex right now. It was difficult at first; the battery life was terrible...after root, ROM and a kernel update the battery life is great. Oh yes, and updated radio's.
