Samsung Galaxy Note Release Dates & Carrier List for Europe

The Samsung Galaxy Note, that some are calling a "phanblet" because of its hybrid nature of being both a gigantic phone or a small tablet, is now available in Germany and several other European countries. The device will slowly roll out across all of Europe, and the folks over at AndroidCentral have graciously shared a list with release dates and carriers for each country.

It's a shame there are currently no plans to bring this to the U.S., as it seems like a natural fit here. What do you guys think?

I think its hybrid size will hinder sales. It's HUGE for a phone, tiny for a tablet. Don't see a need for it in the US at the moment.

Bring this thing to the US!! I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Not sure why we are left out on the deal..

You know what, surprisingly when I was using the OG Droid I would look at the 4" phones and say, "Holy crap those things are huge" and since owning a Bionic I got so used to it to the point where now I think the Iphone 4S is minuscule looking and didn't like the smaller screen.

Anyway, I WANT THIS PHONE!!!! Add on the inch I say!!!

I am so torn between the Note and the Nexus. I want ICS and everything the Nexus offers in terms of hardware, but I LOVE the size of the Note. I want a tablet but don't have a use for one that would have me using i all the time. Because of that, I don't own a tablet. I want a new phone as my DroidX is getting up there but I don't want the carrier to put their crap on it so the Nexus with pure ICS is fantastic as is everything you can do with it and its hardware. Either way, I have until March until my upgrade is ready and both phones will still be relevant in March. If the Note gets ICS in the pure google form and the hardware stacks up to the Nexus', its going to be one hell of a hard decision.

It's almost like we're going backwards, when I see people talking on a 4.x" screen smartphone it reminds me of the old brick-style cellular phones, you just look ridiculous holding something that wide against your head so this thing would really take the cake in how idiotic it would make people look. On top of the that this thing is marginally portable. I remember having an HP PDA that I would carry and at the time it was cool but looking back it was horribly bulky; it seems we are heading in that that direction again . Might as well strap an old VCR to your hip. Until the day of holographic displays (or something similar) humans will continue to struggle with the conflict of wanting small, compact, portable devices with large screens.

Bluetooth headset solves holding it up to your head.
