Panasonic is moving forward with their plans to introduce a Toughbook version of an Android tablet. The tablet will be designed to withstand a ton of punishment, primarily for industrial, military and security work. Along with being resistant to shock, dirt, and water, it will also be internally equipped with a host of Enterprise level security in both hardware and software.
There was not much more given on the specifications of the device. For example, we have no idea what type of processor or which Android OS it will utilize, but here is a quote on what is known:The device will supposedly also come with a satellite-based GPS, an enhanced battery and an optional 3G module. There has been no info given on pricing or availability, although you can expect the device to be fairly expensive, relative to its capabilities. Here are a couple more pics of the tab.The spec sheet of the Panasonic Toughbook slate lists a 10.1-inch XVGA screen, which is bright enough for use in daytime, while at the same time cutting down on reflections. The tablet also comes with an active stylus, the perfect tool for more precise input than what your fingers can provide.
