About LinkBacksThe Droid 2 was updated, the Droid X2 was updated, now it seems the Droid 2 R2-D2 is next in line for this update. A leaked support page shows the little guy should be getting an update to Gingerbread anytime soon. The changes, aside from the upgrade to 2.3, are very subtler but should make for a better experience. The update number is 4.5.602.A957 and to make sure you get the update as it comes out, check "Settings > About Phone > System Update" ever-so-often.
