Droid X2 Custom Recovery Achieved; Custom ROMs May Be Coming Soon

It looks like we may be a few steps closer to a custom ROM for the Droid X2. Ericerk at RootzWiki was able to get the Droid X2 to boot into a custom recovery. He and a developer are now working to make it happen for the general public. There aren't instructions yet, but you can follow the conversation at the RootzWiki source link below. During the convo Ericerk indicates he is also working on a custom ROM for the device, which is exciting news for Droid X2 owners.

Now I know this is a question about Motos locked bootloader process but i'm not familiar with the X2. Was this locked just like how the D3 is going to be? And does this mean that if the X2 can run a different recovery with custom roms there is hope for future Moto products (Droid 3, Bionic)?

im more excited about this than i am about the bionic. i was strongly considering getting the bionic when it came out, but with this (especially if it gets CM) i'm considering holding out for an ice cream sandwich and/or quad core phone.
