Okay - I dont want to sound like a noob but here I go. I rooted my phone and have froyo 2.2 running.
I removed 3g hot spot bloat ware application and want to restore it again. I did some research and found out its "mynet.apk"
Found the file here:
Bought root explorer and copy and pasted the mynet.apk file to systems/app. (did the whole unmount and mount process to copy and execute the file)
I clicked on the file and went through the installation steps. At the end it said "Application Not Installed"
So than I read this:
[How-To] Reinstall Bloatware with 'System Application' Properties - Android Forums
And checked off everything there.
But still even after I did the user settings and rebooted the 3g app icon is still no there.
Figured it out - I just downloaded the older version mynet.apk and it installed and works now.
i had the same problem, where did you find the old version of mynet.apk?
just downloaded an earlier version of the file and it worked.
Maybe this doesn't belong here, but maybe someone will read and take heed. If you rename the apps you want to remove you can get them back very easily.\ when you change your mind.
Ok im using a motorola droid 2 with 2.2 . I rooted the phone and deleted apks that i figured i would never us. And then in my infinite wisedom i deleted the back up. Now the 2.3 update from verizon will not install with out the mynet.apk. ive tryed ones from other places, some work on the phone but still fail to verify with verizon. I need someone with a verizon motorola droid 2 to share the mynet.apk file with me. Please...
