    Jarek,

Great thread to help us new "hackers" get our feet wet. I nuked my CorpCal as you posted, as this app has really been bugging me. Almost as bad as formatting hard drives in the old days, just to get rid of anything AOL. I live in areas of sketchy coverage, and anything that I can do to my phone to kill excess communication is good. I did have a wierd thing happen the first time I went back into Manage Applications. My phone when black and locked up. I rebooted and it seems to be behaving. Thanks for the thread.

    Theascended,

Any way to elaborate on your autostarts mention. Is this an application, commands, or something different.

And I guess in general, any suggestions as where to start to get my head a round these Linux commands that we now have available to us. I have SU and the terminal emulator, now I need to know what I can do or screw up. Talk about having DOS flashbacks............

    Thanks,

    Craig

Methinks the logical answer would be to follow the same instructions and use the mv (rename) command to change from .bac to .apk. APK is an application program which will load, .bac is a harmless extension that keeps them from loading, but does not destroy them.

Cool app, I just purchased it. But unfortunately it doesn't work well on the Droid. When you disable/enable apps from starting up, it hangs during the "Please wait". If you kill the process with task manager and go back in it will be disabled, but you gotta do that when ever you enable/disable.... kinda sucks.

It works fine for me - just disabled Sudoku from running on startup without issues.

A yep.. even though all the info is in the right place (this forum) there wasn't a sticky or anything on the general forum where 90% of the users are.. so I'd be surprised if tons of people still don't know because they don't look in here
