    Froyo Question and Cisco VPN

Can anyone who is using this tell me if the group authentication now works with Cisco VPN connections? I am not really knowledgable enough on rooting my phone to be able to test and since hopefully the update will be rolling out officially soon.....Thanks!

No, you still need to use this app to connect to cisco routers with a GroupID (which requires root):

get-a-robot-vpnc - Project Hosting on Google Code

Options for VPN are still only PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec PSK, and L2TP/IPSec CRT, and the IPSec options don't have a Group ID field, so it won't work.
    Cool CM Tricks
custom_backup_list.txt - make a list of files in /system that will survive a nightly install (ringtones, notifications, system apps, wallpapers, whatever)
in Terminal Emulator, set this as your shell command: "/system/xbin/su -c /system/xbin/bash". You get all the features of bash, root access, and you can still use the initial command field for whatever you want (default is adding /data/local/bin to your path)

    Thanks was afraid of that.

Another question then comes to mind, why do you need to have Root access to run the software?

Step-by-Step Instructions on how to use VPNC

I followed the link posted -- downloaded the software as well as Cyanogen, but it's obvious I don't have a clue how to put the pieces together. Is there a site that outlines step-by-step how to get Group VPN working on a Droid?

    Thanks!
