Shouldnt, but backup your stuff just in case. Contacts are stored in the cloud, pics you'll have to do on your own.

Hey Ken, I believe Step 7 will do that. But, like you said, he should back it up anyway. No telling when something screwy will show up.

Shouldn't wipe the SD card unless he's formatting it.

Don't do anything to the SD card and nothing on it will be affected.

Your data won't be "loose" if you remember to tighten the ropes first.

Make a backup then....Wipe data and cache SEVERAL times to allow for a true clean install. Make a backup of your apps with something like Titanium Backup to make a reinstall very quick(batch install with paid version). Your SD is never totched unless you choose to format the card, I make a habit of copying my card on my PC every so often.

it's really not necessary to wipe data/cache more than 1 time.

    +1 Killabyte

    Wipe it once.

Your SD card will be untouched.

Make sure to backup your apps.

I personally do this before EVERY ROM upgrade or swap
    1. Titanium backup
    2. Astro backup
    3. Nandroid backup (advanced, include the Recovery partition)
