i would never use this because one of the benefits of a physical keyboard is typing exactly what you want (including foreign words which sometimes get auto-corrected arg!) - one of the greater things about the droid, but this is a great hack! thanks for the effort!
Even with the physical keyboard, predictive text makes typing so much faster. In most cases, you don't even have to finish typing out the whole word. Once it recognizes what you want, you hit the space bar and move on to the next word.
Just want to know how many of my fellow droid users have followed my instructions and is using the hack? Come on guys it really means a lot to me to hear from the community. Is there any improvents that I need to make on the instructions?
Man I tried to make the steps as easy as I could. Lol. It was very time consuming. How could I have made it easier? I wanted the least tech savy person to understand it. Sorry if I made it to hard for you all.
Here's how I changed it to hopefully read better, you can use it if you want!

I tried it and here's my summary:
Hardware keyboard - I like that it spell checks for you. I make less errors because of this. It fast enough (no noticeable lag) but at least for the small words I use in texting, the predictive option wasn't usually helpful.
Software landscape - blah..too squished due to Droid's resolution so I won't use it. Strangely predictive text was more useful on the soft keyboard.
Software other - better than default because I like being able to long press keys and get numbers, punctuation, etc.
Overall I will keep it and recommend it to all english users at least. If you do happen to need to say a non english word or just don't want to be corrected all you have to do is type one letter and touch the suggested word (the letter you just typed) and then continue typing. It wont auto correct or suggest more on that word.
Thanks for the right up! On another note if you want to you can just download the file directly to your android phone and by pass the whole USB cable to computer thing. I thought maybe this was skipped because flash or something was used on the site but it worked fine. (assuming I suppose, that you have Astro installed with the option checked to allow downloads of all file types.)
