    Whither bash?

OK, so android is Linux at its core, right? Is there a way to get to the underlying shell? I'd like to do things like ls, df, etc.

If you use ADB you can get limited shell access. Remember, the phone has yet to be rooted, so aside from ls and df, there's very little you can do. Its also the sh shell instead of bash.

EDIT: ADB is through your PC, just for clarification.

Theres a number of terminal applications in the Market, just search for it. However, since we have yet to gain root on the device, you are in a limited account and there isn't a lot of control available
