After trying this Im pretty sure I lost my root access. I cant even try the fix permissions from clockwork recovery or anything at the moment.

I downloaded the scripts.zip and the extracted it to the androidsdk folder. So the "sysrw" and "sysro" files are in the that folder.

I then typed this in ADB:

    C:\Users\Home>cd c:\androidsdk
    c:\androidsdk>adb shell

    adb push
    sysrw /system/xbin/sysrw
    adb push sysro /system/xbin/sysro

Then I typed this and got permission denied:

    C:\Users\Home>cd c:\androidsdk
    c:\androidsdk>adb shell
    # su
    su
    # sysrw
    sysrw
    sysrw: permission denied
    #

Why isn't this working for me? I pushed both files to the xbin folder where busybox is located.

Good tutorial, it makes sense and i understand what you are saying but when you have, "this pulled the framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ to your adk tools directory you can make changes to it and push it back" under pulling, pulling the framwork to the adk tools is not the same as pulling it to the root of the sd card is it? if not, could you give me a command for pulling a file to the root of the sd card?

Going to try and learn this stuff now. I want to make themes for people (:

In the beginning does it really matter to where I put the ANDROID folder that has the SDK's and driver in it? I don't understand the whole environment variable thing and all that junk. My computer looks different than his too. I don't have an OS folder with android in it. I just have ANDROID folder in my documents. Can things still be done? Thanks!

What does "remount failed: Operation not permitted" mean? All of a sudden I can't use ADB. I tried typing this below, which always works for me:

    C:\Users\Home>adb remount
    remount failed: Operation not permitted

Now i can't push/pull apks, etc. It was just working the other day, I have no clue whats wrong! I'm able to charge my phone, mount it and I can rm/uninstall app using ADB but I can't adb remount to push and pull files. Any help would be appreciate as I'm completely lost on what do.

I am running Windows 7 32-bit with a Motorola Droid on BB 1.1 at the moment. (Have also tried with Cyanogen, DroidMod (way back when), and AdamZ's Smoked Glass both 5 and 6.) I have tried every tutorial known to man out there, and I can not get ADB to see my phone no matter what I do, what drivers are installed, or what ROM I am running. ADB installs fine, drivers install fine, phone shows up in Device Manager as Android Device, phone itself shows that phone is connected and Debug is running. Can get into ADB fine in command prompt, but when I type the adb devices command, it returns nothing in the list of connected devices. WTH?
