How do I install Flash_Image and Nandroid

I have a rooted Droid. I am trying to flash the recovery partition and I do not have flash_image installed on my phone. Where do I get this file and how do i install it?

I am assuming that Nandroid is part of the recovery.img? I do not know how to make a backup of my phone, when I go into the recovery mode it does not give me an option to backup and alt-B does not work...

I did download Nandroid-2.0 that has a Nandroid.sh file but am unsure how to install it either.

I am really confused trying to sift through the pages upon pages of threads on these boards... I have used Linux in the past but it has been a long time, so please go slow! LOL

    Thanks!

The easiest way is to download Droid Root Pro in the market. It will take care of the flash_image and nandroid for you. If you want to do it manually, here is a link to the instructions and the files you will need:

**Just realized that site is currently down. I'll see if I can dig another one up for you in case you don't want to use the Droid Root Pro app.

Though use this recovery img instead (use 3b instead of the older 2b that is linked to on the rootyourdroid guide):

Great, thanks! I Finally got it!

One other question, when the ROM's say they are Native MultiTouch Browser, does that mean just the Internet Browser on the phone, or the whole phone is native MultiTouch? I have a hell of a time typing text messages with the garbage default one and want to make sure I put a ROM on that enables multitouch on the whole phone... Thanks again for all your help!

Not sure if there is any true MT keyboard for android. I sure can't type fast enough to even replicate the issues you fast typers have with it.
The new 2.1 android keyboard has speech to text though - but that'll be even slower than typing, I'm sure.

The best rom is the new ESE53 - whether custom or stock it doesn't much matter. It is the most recent, has all the MT android apps (again, I'm not sure about the keyboard, but i dobut it - let me know how I can test it and see though), and has the latest fixes. I'd much, much rather have a stock ESE53 than an overclocked earlier version. Though ESE53 is overclocked as well, I was just saying.

Wow, it seems a hell of a lot better but maybe it's like a placebo effect... I'm not that fast of a typer either, but it just seemed so laggy trying to type on the Droid after switching from the iPhone. Either way, i am much happier with this ROM.

    Thanks for the help!
