    assert failed: write_raw_image("tmp/boot.img",

    Followed this thread:

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hac...lator-zip.html

    with this BB:

    AllDroid - View topic - [ROM 2.1] Bugless Beast V0.5 (2/25/10) STABLE

Had stock 2.0.1 on the Droid, never touched with anything like this. Rooted fine, little ninja, made the backup, etc...

    Everything was going fine;

    Installing Bugless Beast...
    Making Things Beautiful...
    Install Almost Done...

    and then this:

    assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")
    E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted

    any ideas?

I can get into the Recovery and try to restore nandroid but it just goes to white "M" over and over and over. Help?

No. I have only tried to install the update.zip and then to restore the backup.

So, i should wipe the cache and then...

Kind of deflated now, after all this.

I'm not clear what your last successful step was. I used Matt's process to root and install bb. without any issues. I may be wrong but since you used the advanced android to make a copy I think you should select the advance restore.

Last successful step seemed to be #40 to be honest.

Are you sure you had the correct update.zip file?

Can you use the advanced recovery and start over?

yes you should. When you switch from 2.0.1 to 2.1 you need to wipe data and cache

Let me tell you all how I fixed this... after I got the assert ERROR (the same as original poster), I used the BuglessBeast Nandroid restore method and it seems to work like a charm...

Not sure what the root cause is... but this method fixed my issue.
