new to root could use some help!

I have a droid x running android ver: 2.3.4 system ver:621 I tried to root my droid the other day and it kept getting stuck in bootloader. I thought it was because my battery was low but I charged it up and still had the same problem. It never came uo with any errors...it just didnt do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
