Safe to install official update on rooted droid?
I have a droidX that verizon recently released another update for. I don't really care about the update, as it doesn't fix anything that I had problems with, however my phone will not stop annoying me (sometimes the middle of the night) with a series of somewhere between 4 and 10 audible indicators that there is an update available. Sort of sounds like if 10 people sent you text messages all at once...
My phone is rooted, but the rom is still very stock. The only things I have done, was that I installed an overclock utility to give the phone a slight overclock, and I also have used titanium backup to freeze some crapware that I don't want or use. I use a custom launcher, but that didn't even need root access to install.
Should the update install without issue? If not, is there a way for me to stop having my phone let me know about the update?
I only plan on keeping this phone another few months and then upgrading, but it has gotten really annoying to deal with.
Thanks for any advice.
