Thanx for everybody
From Bugless Beast 0.8 Release thread:
Nandroid Backup Installation Instructions:
-Update & backup any files you wish to restore, this will wipe /data
-Extract the files from the archive using WinRAR or a similar program
-Place the extracted folder (the ROM) into the "nandroid" folder on your sdcard
-Reboot into recovery mode (hold the power and "x" button at the same time)
-Wipe data/factory reset (do this twice!)
-Wipe cache partition (do this twice!)
-Advanced Nandroid Restore
-Choose backup (select the ROM)
I had the same looping problem, and this worked for me. I think that you have to do it this way if you are coming from 2.0.1 to a 2.1 based rom.
Super-NOOB here. Rooted Droid and installed DRH, but when I try to mount mtdblock3, it takes 5 minutes(should it take that long?), and says OK, then when I go to install busybox, it will work for ~10 minutes, and then ask if I want to wait or FC. Am I missing something?
Thanks for all of your help!
More details: I followed the tutorial posted in this thread exactly. Got the looping problem described above. Went through the steps above, even doing the two steps twice, and when I get into choose backup I have 3 items to choose from. All 3 items produce the same result which is an error. The directions say there should be a folder, but when extracted there are multiple. Confused and lonely, I sit here looking at my droid and hoping for a solution.
Update: from what I'm reading the status 25 means that it is nesting in too many directories. People are saying there should be things like the boot, system, etc... images and .tar's all in one place. The problem is when you extract the BB folder there is a boot image, but nothing else. I can't find any .tar's or other images to place together to make this work.
Finished: I just found the solution myself. You CAN NOT be using the file linked in the official BB thread. It is not for the backup we're trying to do with these steps. He has linked files that do work here: http://www.androidoverdrive.com/pete/ESE53/V0.8/
Download the one starting with BDS, make a folder with the same BDS name, extract the zip into that folder, then drop the folder into your nandroid folder. reboot (holding X or using the helper), then follow the steps above selecting the folder when told to choose your backup.

This guide has been a huge help. I'm almost complete but a have a few questions...
I'm on the final step where I am rebooting in recovery. I follow the directions, and everything starts to load from the SD card. I get a confirmation message that the process is complete, but, there is a progress bar along the bottom. The bar slowly creeps towards the right, but seems to stall at about 1/4. I've let it sit for 10 minutes or so with it sitting at 1/4 complete. Is this normal? Should I let it go longer? I aborted twice.
My other question is, now that I have aborted, to pick up where I left off can I simply start at step 21 (Open DRH and select Boot Recovery)? Or do I have to go back a few more steps?
Thanks in advance!
Well, I got past that, found TOOLS, and it, along with the "recovery-0.99.2b.img" are in ROOT. When I go into DRH and enter "flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.2b.img", I am still receiving the "file not found" message. I am at a total loss. I've read thru this thread, followed all the instructions, and can't figure out what the heck is wrong. Please, someone, help out a noob here!!!I have followed the directions, and have gotten as far as entering
"flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.2b.img". I receive an error message here. When I look, there is no "Tools" in ROOT. I'm not sure where it ended up. Any ideas?
(Thanks in advance!)
