hrmm okay it works but now i can't connect it to my pc lol the second I do it automatically restarts...any ideas? :P
It's very hard to accidentally brick now, though, if you have a current version of the recovery image running. I think you would probably have to flash over the recovery image with something corrupt AND screw up something in /system to make it not boot. Either one of those two things can be fixed if done alone (you can re-flash the recovery image if you can boot, and you can fix /system if you can boot into recovery), but if you screw both up you'll have a hard time getting out of that.
Here's the writeup I did on how to do it:

scratch that I can't get download crutch which I need to download some key files for that tutorial lol. I will figure out the usb thing when i get home tbh that isn't even a big deal as long as the phone works im not too concerned. Thanks again!
In any case, the key point of that set of instructions is getting flash_image and the recovery image to the phone by whatever means you have available - downloading them directly, emailing them to yourself, posting them on a webpage, changing the filename to something droid will accept, bluetooth sending, ADB push, or just dropping them onto the memory card.
