I have a Droid X (Verizon) and will be travelling to South America next week. I would like to be able to use the wifi on my phone at the very least and I know from previous experience going out of the country that when I'm not on the Verizon network I'm uanble to do so.
I started reading about rooting my phone and it seems this may be a way to enable the wifi to work while I'm outside the Verizon network area. Can anyone give me some tips if this will work, and if so what I need to do besides rooting the phone? Do I need to download any other apps?
Any other tips or insights on things I can do to make my phone more function while outside the US would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help!
